The below dog health tips are our collective knowledge as dog owner and some are from reliable sources:

      1.     As good personal hygiene is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves from illness, this is also true for our dogs. Basically, it includes regular bathing, cleaning their ears, properly cut their nails, and you should provide a clean place for them to stay.

      2.       Be observant of your dog’s daily routine and attitude as this is where you could easily know that there is something wrong with them if these change overnight.

      3.       You should have the following basic and essential items in your house once you own a dog:

a.       Dog Bed

b.       Crates/Containment

c.        Dog tag/Collar (Identification)

d.       Leash

e.        A clean food and water bowls

f.         Grooming supplies

·         Blow dryer

·         Bristle brush

·         Comb

·         Conditioning spray

·         Cotton balls

·         Ear cleaning solution

·         Grooming table or grooming area

·         Nail clippers

·         Scissors

·         Shampoo and conditioner

·         Slicker brush

·         Styptic powder – also known as quick stop

·         Toothbrush and dog toothpaste

·         Towels

g.        Toys

h.       Dog medicines and treats

·         Vitamins

·         Betadine

·         Dextrose powder

i.         Others:

·         Digital Thermometer

·         Rubbing alcohol

·         Weighing Scale

       4.       Choose the right and healthy food for your dog.

       5.       Regular update of deworming (every 3 months) and vaccines (yearly).

       6.       Sanitize first before you touch your dog.

       7.       Do not feed your dog with the harmful foods such as:

a.       Xylitol – found in a sugar-free stuffs

b.       Grapes and Raisins

c.        Chocolate

d.       Onions and Garlic

e.        Avocado

f.         Ethanol

g.        Bread dough

h.       Hops

i.         Macadamia Nuts

j.         Moldy foods

       8.       Do not let your dog smell cigarette smoke and hard scented perfume.

       9.       Clean your surroundings, floors, walls and dog crates/container with Sevin to prevent your dog from tick and flea.

Breeding is not as easy as "123" or "ABC"

“Breeding is not as easy as “123” or “ABC”. Whelping correctly requires experience.”

Sad to say, most of the aspirants to breed dogs assumed breeding only requires you to be a dog lover. As they say, do explore things on which you love, apparently, in this field, love is not only the essential ingredient but the most important of all is you are ready financially and emotionally to face the burden of breeding could become.

Breeding needs full attention to your dam behavior, careful find of compatible/non-related stud, and you have to have funds set aside for this purpose as it could break your finances. Breeding usually costs money rather than makes money because of many unexpected costs.

Insufficient experience can expose to a chance of losing the life of your dam. Serious breeders do not simply depend on the textbooks instructions when having a litter, as whelping correctly requires experience.

Whelping is not an easy task as well. You have to be prepared in any emergent trouble to your dam during her pregnancy. Fading puppies is also costly to save and it is very possible puppies could acquire viruses, more serious treat Parvo. In some cases, your dam will not produce milk or would produce more milk than normal and end up with Maltitis.

There are other multiple non-stop distressing possibilities in breeding dogs. The challenge: Are you ready to face them all?

SUCCESS STORY with FRONTLINE and SEVIN

Ang istorya na mababasa nyo sa mga sumusunod na talata ay hango sa aming karanasan at resulta ng aming masusing pagsiyasat. Sana po ay makatulong sa inyong suliranin ang aming sinulat dito.

Maraming mga produkto na puedeng gamitin upang mawala ang mga kuto at garapata ng mga aso. Pero sa haba ng panahon ng aming pagsisiyasat nakita namin na epektibong gamitin ang FRONTLINE at SEVIN.

Noon, suliranin din namin ang napakaraming kuto at garapata ng aming mga aso. Hindi lang sa kanilang katawan namin nakikita ito kundi kumakalat din sa iba't-ibang parte ng aming bahay, sa sahig, sa dingding, sa kisame, sa upuan, unan at kama. Ang hirap nilang mawala lahat kahit na araw-araw mo tanggalan ang mga alaga mo nito.

Nakakapagod na gawin ang pagtanggal nito. Nakakaawa din pagmasdan ang mga alaga mo na kamo't ng kamo't hanggang sa magsugat na ang balat nila.

Ang frontline (spot on) ay isang gamot para mawala ang garapata at kuto ng mga alaga natin. Ang paraan ng paglagay nito ay nakalagay sa etiketa ng kahon kinalalagyan nito. Ngunit ang wala sa etiketa ay kung paanu ito mas magiging epektibong gamitin.

Paano nga ba?
Una, bago mo gamitin ang Frontline, huwag mo muna paliguan ng limang (5) araw at pagka nalagyan mo na ang alaga mo ng Frontline antay ka ulit ng limang (5) araw bago mo paliguan.

Ang konsepto kasi ng Frontline ay, ang mga garapata ang naglilipat ng gamot sa mga kapwa nila kuto at garapata. Kadalasan, namamatay ang mga ito tatlong araw simula ng pagka kapit ng gamot sa katawan nila. Kailangan na limang araw para mas marami ang mapasahan ng gamot. Ang kagandahan sa konsepto na ito kahit ang mga nadadaanan nilang itlog ng kuto at garapata ay maaari din mamatay.

Nagtatagal ang proteksyon ng alaga mo pagka gumamit ka ng Frontline hanggang dalawang (2) buwan kung tama ang paraan na ginawa mo sa paggamit nito. Pero kung hindi, isang (1) buwan lang proteksyon ng mga alaga mo.

Ano naman ang SEVIN?

Ang Sevin ay may itsurang polbos na ginagamit din na pamatay sa kuto at garapata. Kadalasan din itong gamit ng mga nag-aalaga ng manok pamatay peste. Marami din ang gumagamit nito. Minsan, ginagamit nila habang nagpapaligo ng aso at yung iba naman ginagawang polbos ng aso pagkatapos paliguan.

Dahil sa hindi ko alam ang tapang na dala ng gamot na ito. HIndi ko ni minsan sinubukan na gamitin ito sa mga paraang ginagawa ng iba. Subali't ginamit ko ito sa ibang paraan na sa tingin namin ay magiging epektibo din.

Sa kadahilanan na kahit gumagamit kami ng Frontline hindi pa din naging ligtas ang mga alaga ko dahil yung mga kuto at garapata na nakikita natin sa iba't-ibang parte ng ating bahay ay hindi naaabot nito.

Dito namin ginamit ang Sevin. Hinalo namin ito sa panlinis namin ng sahig. Isang baldeng tubig, diswashing liquid at dalawang (2) kutsara ng Sevin. Ito ang ginagamit namin upang linisin ang buong bahay namin.(Paalala: Puede nyo din ihalo ang madalas nyong ginagamit na panlinis sa sahig sa SEVIN). Pagkatapos nyo po malinis ang buong bahay. Maaari nyo rin pong ibuhos ang pinaglinisan sa tapat ng inyong bahay upang kung meron po kayong mga kaibigan na aspin sa kapitbahay ay hindi po makakapasok ang mga kuto at garapata nila sa inyong bahay.

Simula po ng ganito ang ginawa ko sampung (10) buwan na po na walang kuto at garapata ang mga alaga ko. At pati sa parte ng bahay namin ay wala na kaming nakikitang pakalat-kalat na peste.

Binabahagi ko po sa inyo ito upang makatulong po ako sa mga tao na may problema sa kuto at garapata. At sa kadahilanan na ayaw ko na din po na makakita sa Facebook na namamatay dahil sa sakit na nakukuha sa garapata. Alam ko din po ang pakiramdam ng nawalan ng alaga. Masakit tanggapin lalo na may paraan naman para maprotektahan sila.

Sa ganitong paraan mababahagi ko sa nakakaraming may alaga ng aso ang ginhawa na walang kuto at garapata sa inyong tahanan.

Sa mga makakabasa po maaari nyo din po itong ibahagi sa ibang kakilala nyo na may alagang aso.

Hangad ko po ang inyong tagumpay sa pagpuksa sa kuto at garapata

Dog lovers' worry this summer – TICKS and FLEAS

Summer is not fun to dogs and their owners as well because of the emerging multiple dog diseases, heatstroke, and the deadly ticks and fleas brought by this season.

My dog, ELMO, did acquire this disease 2 years ago. I wasn’t aware of it. I just saw the color of his skin, tongue, and mouth turned pale. He didn’t want to eat, had a slight fever, but he was still very much active. If I am not very familiar with my dog’s behavior, I would not have noticed that he was sick.

Good thing that my vet that time was very good in immediately determining dog’s problem by just knowing the symptoms. She is also good at prescribing the right medicine because she has worked in an animal clinic laboratory, thus making her more knowledgeable about the medications and their components and which would be the most effective and safest drug to prescribe. To make the story short, ELMO survived from this infection.

But I was not sure for how long my furbabies would be protected from this infection, and how they could be saved from having the same fate as ELMO.

So, I concentrated myself on finding ways about how to eliminate these pests from my furbabies’ lives. There are many ways to do it, but after several months of careful, systematic search, I found out that FRONTLINE and SEVIN provide the most effective treatments.
